Chile Churches Helping Neighbors Rebuild Lives

DICHATO, CHILE (April 23, 2010) – The high-pitched grind of a chainsaw, mixed with the rhythmic pounding of hammers driving nails, echoed through the tent walls in the refugee camp on a hillside overlooking Dichato, Chile. It is the sound of the Evangelical Covenant Church at work to help victims of the February 27 earthquake (magnitude 8.8) and tsunami, which together claimed at least 570 lives.
