To Shine in Dark Times
Good Friday, April 2
On this Good Friday, we reflect on the darkest time in all of humanity. The only perfect human, the One who was without sin was unjustly condemned and crucified with criminals. It was a bad day—but it was also a great day. The righteous One endured such agony, but he endured it to demonstrate his love for us. It was dark but Jesus let his light shine in the midst of that darkness.
The cost of discipleship is picking up our cross to follow Christ. When we commit to follow God in dark times, our lights shine for the world to find their way to God.
Lord, please help me remain faithful and true even when following you gets hard. May my light shine to reveal your greatness to the world. In Jesus’s name, AMEN.
