Kevin Smallacombe has been hired as the new director of discipleship resource development for Make and Deepen Disciples, a mission priority of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
He will be involved with all of the ministry’s content development, including evangelism, discipleship, and generation-specific ministries. That will include adult discipleship coaching pathways, intercultural discipleship resources, and expanded evangelism tools for BLESS.
Smallacombe grew up on a farm in England. He began doing youth ministry at a public high school while earning a diploma in Christian leadership. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, earned a master of divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and most recently served as pastor of adult ministries at South Park Church in Park Ridge, Illinois.
“We could not be more delighted that Kevin is joining our denominational team,” said executive minister Michelle Sanchez. “Through the search process, we have been so very impressed with his solid track record of equipping and empowering leaders, his passion to make discipleship experiences accessible to all, his winsome teaching style, and his commitment to racial righteousness.”
“I’m really excited to join the Covenant team to serve the church and grow together in our discipleship,” Smallacombe said.
He is married to Tracey, and they have three children.
