Common Ground

Common Ground

February 11

Read: 1 CORINTHIANS 9:16-23

Today we read, “Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some” (v. 22, NLT). How different would our world be if we focused on our commonalities instead of things that divide us? How would the kingdom of God expand if we made an effort like Paul to find common ground with everyone?

We are more alike than we are different. Jesus was great at finding common ground with people despite the barriers or beliefs that presented a challenge to do so. We are reminded today that seeking out commonalities within the people in our lives can till the soil of their heart to receive the seed of God’s word. Who is someone you can be intentional and find common ground with?

Father, help me to have eyes for the one I can find common ground with that I may be overlooking. AMEN.
