Let God Flex

Let God Flex

February 7

Read: ISAIAH 51:7-9a

“Wake up, wake up, O Lord! Clothe yourself with strength! Flex your mighty right arm!” (v. 9, NLT).

Growing up, I was fascinated with fictional characters who had supernatural strength. I desperately wanted to activate this hidden strength within myself, yet I couldn’t even win an arm wrestling match.

However, as an adult I have now discovered the supernatural strength I was drawn to as a child. This strength is found not in my physical arm but rather in God’s. God’s right arm is symbolic of his omnipotence. Instead of being frustrated, I now allow my weaknesses to point me to God’s strength. His strength is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). An impossible situation is an opportunity for God to flex his mighty right arm.

God, help me to see challenging circumstances as an opportunity to see your hand at work in a mighty way. AMEN.

I have a huge passion for the arts and mentoring the next generation. I have been mentoring students for the past 10 years and they bring me great joy! A typical small group with me involves transparent conversations, prayer, and dancing. Ministry was never my plan, but I know I am called for such a time as this.
