Watson Named New CKC Leader

Watson on water tower in DR Congo

Lyndsey Watson has been hired to serve as the ministry specialist for Covenant Kids Congo, the child sponsorship community development partnership between the Evangelical Covenant Church and World Vision focused on northwest Democratic Republic of Congo.

Watson most recently served as associate pastor at Cascade Covenant Church in North Bend, Washington. A runner who has participated in races across the country to raise support for water projects, she has helped build the church’s relationship with CKC and inspired more than 100 participants to participate each year in World Vision’s Global 6K race. The church has more than 150 sponsorships. Watson also has visited the ministry in northwest Congo.

Covenant Kids Congo became part of Covenant World Relief and Development last year. “Lyndsey has already begun to recognize opportunities for greater synergy between CKC and other ministries of CWRD,” says Adam Edgerly, CWRD director. “We look forward to years of fruitful ministry through her leadership.”

  1. Lyndsey is out of a second generation of family that has served God and our church (the people) so fantastically! She is wonderful and very engaging to work with. I must admit we are selfishly sad (being honest here), to have her move out of her current position. But, as a fifth year new runner for TWV, I am very excited to see her move into leading the CKC! I know our other runners and supporters feel the same way! GO LYNDSEY!!!
