The Same Mindset

My son has recently discovered Where’s Waldo? books. We laugh together when one of us has found Waldo and is waiting patiently for the other to discover his location. It can be challenging since each page is loaded with illustrations that attempt to disguise his whereabouts. You have to have a specific mindset to look beyond just what you see in front of you, to find what you are seeking. As disciples of Jesus, we are charged with these words to “arm yourself with the same intention” or “mind” (KJV) as Christ, that we may live “no longer by human desires, but by the will of God.” It is our daily privilege and challenge to have the same intention as Jesus, who sought to do the will of his Father in everything.
God, give me eyes to see things like you do. May I have the same intention as Jesus, that your will may be done in, through, and around me. AMEN.
