God Judges Righteously

God Judges Righteously

December 8

Read: ISAIAH 40:27-31

“My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God” (v. 27b).

It’s easy for us to feel neglected by God, especially when we aren’t getting what we want. But our accusations against God are telling: they often happen during difficult situations that we have gotten ourselves into.

Maybe it’s not that God is neglecting us; instead, we have neglected God. Then, after eating the poisonous fruit of our own foolishness, our hearts ignite in anger against God (Proverbs 19:3). Our rejection of God’s wisdom prevents us from seeing God’s provision clearly.

Remember, “the Judge of the whole earth” will do what is right (Genesis 18:25). We can always rely on God’s compassion to help us through our difficulties.

Righteous God, you are the Judge of the whole earth. Help me to obey your wisdom, examine my own heart, and do what is pleasing in your sight. In Jesus’s name, AMEN.
