Lord, Transform Us

Lord, Transform Us

December 4

Read: TITUS 3:1-8

When I was a child, my Christmas list consisted of countless Lego sets. As an adult, I still love to build them, and I now get the satisfaction of sharing this love with my daughter. It is amazing how a pile of tiny plastic bricks can be transformed into a beautiful, creative work. My daughter and I spend countless hours transforming these pieces into castles, trains, and even small cities.

In our passage for today, Paul describes a transformation that takes place in us when we are renewed by the Holy Spirit. Like my daughter and I with our Legos, God takes the pieces of our sinful lives and builds in us a new creation that reflects God’s character. This is the transformation that allows us to truly love and serve others.

Lord, thank you for your mercy and your creativity. Make us into new creations. Lord, transform us. AMEN.
