Lord, Sustain Us

Lord, Sustain Us

December 3

Read: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:3-9

The gospel, the good news revealed throughout Scripture, teaches us that God will sustain us until the end. This is the same message with which Paul opens his first letter to the church in Corinth. He reiterates their shortcomings and imperfections, yet at the same time gives them hope in the power of Jesus’s mercy to sustain them until the day Christ returns.

Though this is a familiar message to many of us, I can’t help but feel at peace every time I am reminded of the hope we have in Jesus. It is Christ’s faithfulness and not our own that brings true stability and wholeness to our souls. Though we are far from perfect, we have assurance that God will see us through to the end. Let us rejoice in the work Jesus has accomplished for us!

Lord, thank you for the continued provision that you give us every day as we become more like you. Lord, sustain us! AMEN.
