Entrusted with the Gospel

October 31

Paul reminds us of the seriousness of the charge that followers of Jesus carry. We are approved by God and entrusted with the gospel of Jesus. This is our holy calling. It is a privilege each one of us is granted. It is not the task for some believers; it is the calling for all of us.

Remembering this mission daily can help us redirect our prayers and our actions to reset our daily priorities. We do not live to please others; we live to please our Lord Jesus. Moses and Paul serve as just two of our models. But God is our guide, and God puts our hearts and motivations to the test. Each day can serve as a check and balance. Have we lived this day to the glory of God?

Lord, each day is a day I can live with you. When I remember that you trust me to carry your good news today, I am humbled. Renew my commitment. Holy Spirit, what would you do in and through me today? AMEN.
