From the Rising of the Sun

From the Rising of the Sun

October 22

Read: ISAIAH 45:1-7

There is a favorite drive in Glacier National Park in western Montana called the “Going-to-the-Sun road.” The vistas there are stunning. It feels as if you can see the whole world from the dizzying heights. I always imagine that if my eye could see that far, I could see from ocean to ocean. If a person stood there long enough they could see the sun rise and set in glorious fashion. It’s hard for me to imagine someone viewing this handiwork of God and not be awed.

Isaiah reminds us of the power and grandeur of God “from the rising of the sun, from the east to the west, there is no one besides me.” What a glorious wonderful reminder of the scope of the majesty and love of God.

Lord, thank you for the wonder of nature which reveals your glory, creativity, and power. There is truly none like you and we worship your holy and marvelous name. AMEN.
