From the Lips of Children

From the Lips of Children

October 21

Read: MATTHEW 21:12-17

Our second daughter was a worshiper very early on in life. When she was three I watched as she sang along with worship videos. She knelt and bowed in prayer and praise as she reacted to the words, worshipping her Savior. I stood in the hallway and wept as I watched this precious child, who was bald from chemotherapy and emaciated from the cancer that was wrecking her body, as she acknowledged the One who had made her perfect.

This weekend I watched my daughter, now a young adult, lift her voice in praise as she led worship. I was reminded of that day, seemingly so long ago, when her young lips first offered praise.

Lord, thank you that you have given us the examples of children to lead us in our praise. Help me to worship you like a child, without inhibition, angst, or fear. AMEN.

  1. What a lovely message. I was able to imagine your daughter worshipping the Lord at three years old basically being oblivious to her condition and in spite of it, while you watched in the hallway in tears. And now she leads worship as an adult. Yes, how very lovely indeed. There’s going to be a lot of love wrapped up in those knitted and quilted gifts that you will be giving your granddaughter. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
