God Works Behind the Scenes
Read: PSALM 145:1-8
Our daughter wanted to go to Ecuador to attend a Bible college following her high-school graduation. We said, “As long as the doors keep opening.”
All the doors had opened, but then we learned from a friend that the Ecuadorian government required each student to have $3,000 in a savings account. That was a shut door, and I planned to tell our daughter Annalea later that day.
Kent’s mom, a waitress who raised five kids alone and never had a dime to spare, invited him to join her for lunch the same day we heard about the required deposit. She had decided to share an unexpected inheritance with us. She handed him a check for $3,000!
Annalea studied the Bible in Ecuador that year. Later, she returned as a missionary.
O Lord, you have seen our need and you have provided. We praise your holy name. AMEN.
