The Glory of the Lord

The Glory of the Lord

Saturday, June 6

One of my favorite places to connect with God is on the shores of Schoolhouse Beach on Washington Island, Wisconsin. There, I sit on pebbles rounded to perfection by the cold northern waters of Lake Michigan and feel refreshed by cool breezes as I look out over crystal-clear waters. There, I reflect on God’s greatness as I take in the wonders of God’s creation and rejoice in his work. It is there that I recharge and recenter myself in Jesus. When I leave that place, I carry home with me a renewed sense of God and an invigoration of the Spirit.

Along with the psalmist, “I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” for the space that allows me to be present to God’s goodness and splendor.

I pray that you too have a place to connect with our Creator.

Creator God, thank you for the beauty of your creation. May it never cease to amaze us. AMEN.
