We Are His
Monday, May 25
“Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one” (v. 11).
When I was a kid, I would play hide and seek with my friends. We would wait, hiding, for a chance to run to the goal. We could hear somebody else counting: one! two! three! Then they would shout to let us know they were coming and we’d all go out jumping and laughing. Then the game would start all over again.
Jesus is the one who cries out and gives salvation to all of his friends. We are not only his but the Father’s as well. There is a wonderful union between Father and Son, and between all of us, protection included.
Let us be one as the Father and the Son are one. Let us glorify him by seeking him and by caring for others.
God, may it be so. AMEN.
