Work Done

Sunday, May 24

Read: John 17:1-8

“I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word” (v. 6).

There is great satisfaction in beginning and finishing something. For those of us working in missions, seeing the start of a ministry or seeing new people coming to Jesus brings great joy. But there is even more joy when a building is finished or a believer strengthens their faith.

Christ began the work, but he completed more than that. He continues to care for us by asking the Father to watch over us while we are in the world.

It is our responsibility to speak words of truth and unity.

God, give us the strength to finish the work you have given us, focusing on the gospel news, and above all, setting examples through unity with other believers. Amen.
