God Is Able
Saturday, May 9
“Philip said to him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied’” (v. 8).
Though Philip and the rest of the disciples walked with the Messiah, experiencing firsthand the miracles he performed, it was not enough. They still needed more convincing.
Today we fall into this same folly. Though saved from death and reconciled to the Father, doubt lingers in our hearts and minds. The countless struggles believers endure require persistent reminders that God is able and that he will make a way. It is as though we forget what Christ accomplished on Calvary; we forget the miracle of redemption and salvation through faith.
We must never forget that Christ is risen. There is joy, hope, and life in him who resurrected and ascended on high. There is absolute victory in Jesus Christ; that is more than enough to be satisfied.
Father, forgive us for our lack of faith and remind us of the victory we have in you. Amen
