God Is Enough

God Is Enough

Saturday, April 25

Read: Psalm 16

C.S. Lewis wrote, “We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us.” We are a confused people. We recognize that apart from God there is no good thing, yet we run after innumerable other “gods” that falsely promise us comfort and control, safety and security. We offer them our libations of money, time, talent, and energy. But they are never satisfied; our offerings are never enough.

We live in a world that continually preaches messages of scarcity and lack, of danger and worry. How desperately we need to be reminded that our God is enough. In him there is no lack. In him there is nothing to fear. Our God is good and is abundantly able to care for us in every way.

God is enough. Rejoice in this truth. Let it sink into your soul. Rest in it today and have peace.

Creator God, I rejoice that today and every day, you are enough. AMEN
