Donations, Prayers Sought for Fire Victims

CONCORD, CA (November 17, 2018) – Covenant leaders are urging individuals and congregations to donate to relief and recovery funds to benefit the victims of the Camp Fire blaze that quickly turned into the state’s deadliest and most destructive in history.

At least 63 people are dead and as many as 1,000 are missing.

“This has been a different kind of disaster,” said Pacific Southwest Conference superintendent Paul Wilson in a video. He called on churches to set aside time to lament and pray as well as provide funding.

Individuals can donate online to Bayside Church, which is working closely with reputable organizations in Paradise, California. Your online donation will support these efforts. Give here.

The Salvation Army is mobilized and has served over 29,000 meals to evacuees and first-responders in Butte County.  To give to their efforts, click here.

Churches also are encouraged to take an offering that will be distributed through Love Mercy Do Justice. One hundred percent of the funding will go to disaster relief. Churches should make one check payable to the ECC and then mail it to:
