Covenant Churches Not Damaged by Michael

COLLEGE PARK, GA (October 11, 2018) – No Covenant congregations have been directly impacted by Hurricane Michael, said Southeast Conference superintendent Catherine Gilliard.

“We’ve been in contact with our conference churches asking them to contact us if they need assistance with relief and recovery efforts for storm damage to their church and with supplies needed to minister to their communities,” Gilliard said.

“Our conference staff continues to be in constant contact with Love Mercy Do Justice to assist in finding home-base churches from which relief teams can operate and coordinate their response to those who have lost everything.”

Government officials say the storm pummeled the Panhandle with 155 mph winds and left cities in ruins. Scientists have declared Michael to be the strongest hurricane to ever strike the region.
