ACC Dedicates Residence Hall, Begins ‘Give Days’

SOLDOTNA, AK (September 14, 2018) – Alaska Christian College (ACC) today is dedicating its new residence hall as the school kicks off its “Give Days” campaign, which runs through Friday, September 21.

Now in its eighteenth year, ACC hopes to raise more than $18,000 to benefit its scholarship fund. The first $5,000 will receive a match.

Students who attend ACC come from more than 70 Alaskan communities, primarily bush villages. The school again reached record enrollment with more than 90 students taking classes this year.

ACC has grown from a one-year, non-degree discipleship college to an accredited, two-year degree-granting Christian higher education institution. ACC offers associate’s degrees in para-professional education, Christian ministry, and behavioral health.

Nearly 600 volunteers from around North America, combined with donors over the past years, have enabled construction of Taikuu Hall, a 34-bed facility that is enabling the school to handle increasing enrollment.

Taikuu means “thank you” in the Inupiaq language. The new residence hall will give students a more communal setting than the stand-alone duplexes and triplexes, where some male students had been housed.

Donors can contribute online.
