Obituary: Robert Wood

WHITEHALL, MI (August 8, 2016) — Pastor Robert Wood, 78, died Saturday, July 30.

He was born June 15, 1938, in Ionia, Michigan, to Harry and Lena (Repphun) Wood.

Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan Technological University in 1960,and earned an M.Div degree from North Park Seminary in 1995.

He married his wife, Linda, on December 5, 1987.

Robert worked as a wildlife biologist for the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources for 26 years before retiring in 1991 to attend seminary. He served the Evangelical Covenant Church in Courtland, Kansas; Cedar Creek Covenant Church in Twin Lake, Michigan; and the Evangelical Covenant Church in Whitehall, Michigan.

Robert is survived by his wife; two daughters, Heather Jones and Elizabeth Wood; a son, David Wood; two stepdaughters, Brenda Townsend and Debra Townander; and a stepson, Michael Townsend; and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday August 27 at the Whitehall Covenant Church. Visitation will be at 5 p.m.
